I have been working as a teacher for the past few years but I have a lot of experience in the education realm. Before becoming a teacher I worked at a summer camp educating 3rd graders through high school students. I have taught middle school Spanish, 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and now I'm teaching 3rd grade again!
If you were to walk into my classroom you would find a student centered environment. It is a safe place to explore and collaborate to learn new things. It might seem a little chaotic but if you take a closer look you will see students exploring their passions and taking control of their education.
I've haven't won any honors/awards in my teaching career yet. I did get nominated for teacher of the year my first year teaching. That is pretty cool.
Here is the very simple story of my own education. While growing up I attended a small private elementary school. After that I went on to an all girls high school and I am a strong advocate for single sex education in the upper levels. I graduated from a private college and taught 2nd grade for 3 years in a rural environment. I taught grade 3 for 2 years in an urban environment. I teach grade 2 in an international school right now!
That's all the info I have to give about myself. Want to know just ask!
