TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was a substitute Teacher for two years. Then I had two years of experience with teaching Special Education students in a resource math class at the middle school level: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Now I am going to be teaching a 5th grade class. I have now switched back to special education as a resource teacher for 4-6 grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Differentiation so as to make the content as accessible to as many learners as possible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Rattle Snake Award -given to me by another Special Education teacher at the middle school I worked at. Phi Theta Kappa member/officer

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up in Wyoming and went to elementary and junior high there then in the middle of my 9th grade year my family moved to Tucson, Arizona. I got my GED and about five years later went to Pima Community College. At Pima I earned high marks and gained a place in the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. Through my involvement in Phi Theta Kappa I earned a scholarship to the UofA and graduated from there two years later.
