Currently, I work as a reading tutor for students K to 5 and I teach middle school age writing classes for non-profits. I am not a traditional teacher. I have worked as a college tutor, an elementary school reading tutor, and as staff. I have taught writing classes for non-profit organizations and I have also worked as an educational speaker and consultant. I have started designing a new curriculum from the ground up with other professionals targeting students individual development all the way from K through 12.
I have always believed in approaching teaching from a different direction. Not all students learn the same and I take that to heart. I prefer to approach topics in ways that interest the kids. In the past, I have explored teaching through: comic books, video games, pop culture movies, pop culture young adult books, sports, and more. Many of the teaching materials that I offer here are themed to keep the kids interested.

I have my BA in English with a minor in Theatre from the University of Northern Colorado. During my BA, I worked with an English Secondary Education focus, but decided to pursue my Master's degree instead of my teaching certificate. I received my MA in Arts & Culture with a focus on Creative Writing from the University of Denver. I also finished a Master's Certificate program on Arts Development and Program Management.
