TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 6th grade for 9 years, 5th for 1 year, and presently 3rd. Before that I taught multiple levels in Middle and High School. I home-schooled my own son for several grades and have helped many families with lessons both locally and Online. I have a Gifted Endorsement, and TESOL endorsement, and I have worked with ELL students my entire career.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a very broad-minded style; I don't believe in making lessons so hard a student or substitute can't understand what I want. I feel that you give each student at least 3 different ways of solving a math problem, or help them discover their own writing style, likes, and dislikes, and then integrate that into what is needed for the lesson being worked on. You can't stuff a round peg into a triangular hole; but you can work with it until you find a way for them to succeed together!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I don't list these sorry, they just don't really matter to me.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BSB/Mgt. and a MAED, and part of an ED/Edu. I also attend as many trainings as I can on different subjects on my own time to make sure I am up on all the latest trends, ideas, and interesting things coming down the pipeline.

I am a single mother of a wonderful young man I am exceptionally proud of. My son is serving in the military, and he is a fine, upstanding, member of society. I live in NM with a too many animals and not enough time. GeoCaching is my favorite pastime, right up there with doing volunteer archeological work with NFS.
