I have taught/tutored adult ESL learners from all over the world in a full time and volunteer capacity for 10 years. I have taught multi-level, multi-ethnic classes, leveled classes with students from the same culture, tutored, and had conversational English partners. I taught full time overseas in Afghanistan. I also taught full time in Omaha, NE to Hispanic students. I specialize in beginner adult students but have taught intermediate, advanced, tofel, and conversation classes. I have volunteered with a local organization that reaches out to International students since 2011 in Omaha NE. I also was in leadership with a similar organization during my undergraduate degree.
My goal is to have a student centered classroom as much as possible. I love children's literature and integrating it into my classroom. I want my classroom to be a sanctuary where students can temporarily leave their stress at the door and build a community where they feel safe to learn a new language.
