NewEnglandTeacher is the work of a husband and wife team of educators. Carol is an elementary teacher, while James is a music educator. Collectively they've taught every grade from preschool to college in all subject areas for more than 10 years. After teaching elementary music for several years, James recently moved up to junior high and high school general music and instrumental ensembles. Carol currently teaches second and fourth grade math, as well as tutors part time.
Carol's classroom is where students grow through making mistakes, messes, and memories. Students are encouraged to unpack each other's thinking, to teach one another, and to take bold academic risks while learning. In her room students get up and get active, with a heavily, hands-on oriented curriculum. James' high energy and hands-on style make learning fun and accessible for music students. He focuses on the creation of music as a key component to his instruction. He teaches the music standards through the creative process.
Yet to be added
Carol is a licensed elementary teacher for grades 1-6. James is a licensed music teacher for K-12.
We love spending time outdoors with as a family with our dog, Bruno. We are big fans of technology and are often attached to our iPads or computer. When not teaching or TpTing, you'll find us working on James' small music business, giving lessons and music classes.
