MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Steve has a B.A. degree in English Literature from Louisiana State University. He also spent several years living in Japan. During his stay, he used a variety of learning methodologies to pass an advanced Japanese-language proficiency test after just a few years of study. Using his education and experience, Steve combined Eastern learning methodologies and modern Western educational standards to create the Newitt Beginning Reading and Writing Program.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Newitt Learning is an educational publishing company that provides innovative and effective learning programs. The first offering is the Newitt Beginning Reading and Writing Program, an educational system unlike anything seen before. The program provides a fundamental yet integrated approach to reading, writing, listening, and speaking the English language. The Common Core standards-based series of 24 books guides novice learners through a full year curriculum. A key feature of the program is that it uses linear incremental steps and repeated practices linked to higher level thinking skills. This approach gives the learner a solid foundation of reading and writing experiences. In the process, the learner gains routine study habits, motivation to learn, confidence, and mastery.
