I am a middle school teacher. I have been teaching for 7 years and loving every minute of it.
My teaching philosophy is that whatever method or style I use it should bring the greatest benefit to my students. I love to engage my students in the lessons so they become active participants in their learning. At this point I do not have a set teaching style. I believe in trying various methods each year to see what works best for me and for my learners. It also gives me the chance to challenge myself by remaining in a learning mindset!

I have been blessed to spend my formative years in a loving Christian school in Charlotte, NC. The teachers and staff truly believed in guiding students to become life-long learners and they believed in developing not just our minds, but our spirits. After grade school I then experienced the public school system for my high school years. Although it was a major adjustment for me I really enjoyed the experience because it allowed me to see the pros and cons of public education and compare it to my years in Christian school. College was where my love of teaching really took flight. I made the decision to attend Belmont Abbey College in 2005 and it was truly the most challenging and rewarding experience I have ever had. I originally wanted to major in english, chemistry, or business and I was having a lot of trouble deciding between the three because neither one truly appealed to me. So one semester I signed up for an education class and fell in love. After four years of hard work I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education.
