I have been teaching high school English for 14 years. Although I have taught all grade levels at least once, I have primarily worked with senior level classes, more specifically Honors British Literature and AP English Literature. I hold Gifted, AP Literature, and AP Language certifications.
My teaching style is based on making all the works I teach thematically related to the lives of my students. It is important that students see the timeless value of great works of literature and can relate the readings to their own lives. Further, I believe that the classroom should be a fun and engaging place in order to compete with the fast-paced technological world in which our students live. I design all of my lessons with these principles in mind.

B.A. in English (Kennesaw State University); B.S. in Secondary Education/English (Kennesaw State University); M.Ed. in Adolescent Education (Kennesaw State University)
I have been teaching since I was 16 years old when I got my first gig teaching guitar. As I grew older, I decided to combine my love for teaching with my love for reading and writing and go to school to become a teacher. I am a published writer, and have recently presented at the Georgia Council of Teachers of English conference as well as at an Adolescent Literacy conference at Kennesaw State University.
