TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 25 years in public school, both High School and Middle School. I have taught both Civics and Early American History.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in student driven lessons. I love cooperative groups and activities where the students are discovering, asking questions, and learning. I often define my classroom as "controlled chaos".

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was Middle School teacher of the year in 2009, I have participated in several US History teaching grants through my district, have been a peer facilitator for the Colonial Williamsburg teacher's institute and am published through their educational foundation.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my B.A. in History at UCF and my Masters of Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction through Grand Canyon University.
