MY TEACHING STYLE

Plan and develop Units of work which are ALWAYS embedded within a Context-Text Model. These units are derived from Syllabus expectations and student interests. The shape and final outcome{s} of the unit are reached through negotion with students and sometimes parents. Teaching within the unit is organised around a Modelled/ Collaborative/ Independent structure which provides scaffolding for the competencies of a variety of learners. Students build up "Hanging Files" as they progress through the unit, using this information to contribute to their final outcome. Outcomes are measured against competencies/ criteria, with students having a large say in the rating of their achievements.
