TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After teaching 5 years of 4th and 5th grade ELA in St. Louis, I made the move to sunny Florida to teach 2nd grade!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy using literature circles and book clubs as much as possible to encourage social reading. One of my biggest goals every year as I teach reading is to make my students LOVE reading and find the books that they truly enjoy. There is something for everyone!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I broke a plastic trophy that my class got for perfect attendance... does that count? Also, to date, I have never placed lower than first in a food-consuming contest. Spaghetti, pie, burritos. I've conquered them all. This might be my proudest achievement.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Boston College in 2011 with degrees in English and Spanish, then continued on to University of Missouri - St. Louis for my MEd in Secondary Ed. and Literacy Specialist degrees.
