I have six years of teaching experience in second, fourth, and sixth grades!
I have always been crazy about reading fiction. When I was little, I must have read every book in my house at least twenty times each! When I became a teacher, I longed for my students to have that same passion and excitement about literature. I love using novels in the classroom to foster learning, inspire creativity, and activate imaginations. That zeal has led me to write novel studies that are rigorous but that are also enjoyed by children.
I had the privilege of teaching, leading, and learning at a Blue Ribbon, California Distinguished, Title I Awarded school.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Intercultural Communication, along with my teaching credential. Additionally, I have continued taking education classes through the University of San Diego over the last several years.
I am wife to a wonderful husband, and mother to two precious girls. Our awesome dog, Billy, completes our family!
