I have 5 years of teaching experience in the traditional classroom teaching with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I loved my time teaching middle school! During those 5 years, I taught Ramp-Up language arts & reading, Inclusion, language arts, reading, life science, physical science, and test prep. I also presented at the America's Choice National Conference in my first year of teaching. I currently work in what I call the universal classroom - a public library - and educate students of all ages and academic levels. Some of my other subject and specialty areas include: writing, poetry, reading recovery, earth science, physical science, life science, classroom management, and research skills.
As an educator, I like to serve as a facilitator or delegator along with some modeling. I like the learning environment to be more student-centered, hands-on, project-based with differentiated instruction. One of my goals is to cultivate and nurture life-long learners and personal scholars, including the two little ones in my house! :-)
