TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked in a New York public school district for eight years now. I spent three years in the Middle School, but I am now in the High School. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant, a Computer Lab TA, and as an English teacher. My experience has ranged from a small-class environment to an honors classroom. As such, I have a keen understanding of just how differently students learn and strive to keep every style included.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to stay creative. A bored student is one who is not learning to his/her full potential.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

No professional awards (yet!)- but I was inducted into the English Honor Society in college.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my BA in English in 2007. I graduated with my Masters in Adolescent Education in 2008. I am currently working towards getting my Special Education certification.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am also a swimming instructor. Outside of school, I like to stay active by swimming, skiing, and SCUBA diving. I like to discover new restaurants with my friends, hang out pool-side with a good book and good tunes. However, I also spend too much time in front of the television, shopping, and eating!
