TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi everyone, I'm Lori. I have been teaching in the same rural Pennsylvania school district since 1986. I've taught 11 and 12 English, all levels: Academic, College Prep., and Honors. I taught Shakespeare class, a class in Keystone Test preparation, and various odds and ends. I was a class advisor, cheerleading coach, and drama director. I have a great husband and two kids. My daughter graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and my son is enrolled at Lycoming College. They are awesome!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm an old-fashioned teacher. I believe in providing students with essential information and developing their fundamental skills. I like to then set them off on an adventure independently or with partners or in a group to explore and discover. I assess their learning through various activities, writing, presentations and projects.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I'm proud of the success that my students achieve. Many return from college with "thank you's" and positive feedback. One year I was voted "Funniest Teacher."

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education English Masters of Liberal Arts Various post-graduate credits

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My favorite TpT activity is creating dynamic PowerPoint presentations. If you ever have a request for a particular topic for a presentation, please contact me through the Q and A tab in my store. I'd be glad to consider creating an engaging presentation for your class.
