TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have spent 24 years in education. This year will mark my eighth year as an administrator. I am currently working on district level licensure. I have served as an assistant principal, summer school administrator, and have a broad range of teaching experiences in the classroom. I began my career in special education as a resource room teacher and then helped design a self-contained program for severe emotionally disturbed and behavior disordered students. I have also taught in the regular education classroom ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. My last years teaching before becoming an administrator were spent teaching computer to pre-school through 4th grade students. During my time in the classroom I was also fortunate to have the opportunity to work with many very gifted students as an Odyssey of the Mind Coach whose team made it to World Finals!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Because every child deserves a champion and the best start in life we can give them, my vision is to help create a student-centered school that is safe, orderly, and supports the needs of the students. It should be a community of learners which is focused on growth for all with "Ohana" as its core. It should teach students how to become productive citizens who do not just survive, but instead thrive!
