Over the past 30 years, I have been committed to reaching the hearts of the diverse students I teach by writing curricula immersed in original song, drama, poetry, and creative movement to bring subject material to life, to kindle imaginations, and to instill a love for learning. I have met with my Pre-K through fifth grade students in a carpeted gym where there has always been lots of room for big moving and big imagining. It's lovely to enjoy a good amount of room in an ordinary classroom for some extraordinary, imaginative, and creative playing, for play is the root of creativity and creativity the root of innovation. But if classroom play space is limited, remember that the play space of the imagination is absolutely boundless and can thrive and shine in the tiniest corner available.

Huge advocate for utilizing the arts to serve, care for, and collaborate with our neighbors in the community. I write music to support and enhance student understanding of content and engagement in the learning process. Often, classroom teachers will commission me to write music for the original lyrics generated by their students on all sorts of curricular content. The students are thrilled to be co-composers of songs written for their class. I am a huge advocate of creative play and arts infused curriculum. I write a great deal about creativity in my blog, "Where do I begin?" at http://imaginationcollaborationteacher.blogspot.com.
