I am a Melbourne based Kindergarten teacher with a passion for early childhood education. I have previously worked as a solicitor but was attracted to the possibilities teaching offers to help build other people up and have happily worked in early childhood for the last three years.
I love the ideal of the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches to early childhood education. However my neatly typed and beautifully displayed pedagogy mockingly laughs from the wall of the classroom as I 'teach on my feet' and cater to the different demands my students develop throughout the year.
I like to bring a sense of community spirit and involvement to my classroom. I have always strived to be an active member of my community and this was recognised in my tertiary studies when I received the UTS Brennan Leadership Award, and the UTS: Soul Award in 2013. I also completed the Lucy Program, which is a female leadership program offered to students with a credit average or higher, in 2010.
Bachelor of Arts, Juris Doctor, Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and currently completing a Masters of Teaching (Primary).
