TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught ELA and Writing for multiple grade levels at a charter school for a few years. During that time I developed curriculum and implemented it from the ground up while also acting as a trainer and resource for incoming teachers. I am currently working with adolescents as an educational therapist for a residential treatment facility associated with a hospital.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a structured and direct teacher. I do my best to ensure that each activity is purposeful and each lesson has a directed educational goal. I develop my units with backwards design in mind and try to infuse my love of reading into the lessons so that students build the same interest and engagement. I want to build a passion for learning and a love of reading so I do my best to choose thought provoking, interesting, and rigorous texts to teach.
