I taught fifth grade in the Boston area for one year and then moved to California. I have been teaching fourth grade for the past five years in Orinda, CA and will begin the PhD program at Cal State LA/UCLA in Special Education in the fall of 2012.
I teach the workshop model for both math and language arts. My passion is grammar and word study, where I have integrated my Orton Gillingham training to create a hands-on and multi-sensory program for students. I weave in social issues wherever I can in the curriculum and integrate art/technology in projects that encourage student independence.
