Author of Ingredients of Young Outliers, Dr. John Shufeldt is an experienced adjunct instructor at Arizona State University for master's level business and law courses. The book which correlates to the curriculum, was developed for career professionals by Dr. Shufeldt and adapted, at the request of local teachers, for students. The material was developed based off of 30 years of professional experience as a physician, serial entrepreneur, pilot, and in the last decade, an instructor, educator, author and attorney. Students will glean from the wisdom and experience of many mentors in this leadership material.
Dr. Shufeldt commissioned two teachers to develop approachable and easy to follow curriculum for teaching advanced concepts to students. The curriculum and exercises are based on the book, Ingredients of Young Outliers, which is written in a professional, yet approachable and humorous tone, addressing leadership traits for students to become standouts not only in their student body, but upon graduating, entering higher education, the career field, and integral for personal character development. Narratives are sprinkled throughout the book which encourage students to personalize the information in order to put the application rick material into practice now and in the future. Our curriculum developers provide easy to follow and clearly defined curriculum with opportunities for extra student engagement and interaction with the materials.
