Before moving to Knoxville in August, Wendy has taught in Georgia for over 19 years. She has taught Kindergarten and First Grade, as well as Third Grade. She loves to motivate student learning by using creative and fun activites in her classroom! Wendy is a former national presenter for SDE and has co-authored two books with Kim Adsit.... Hooks, Books, and Cooks and Animal Hooks, Books, and Cooks. She has taught workshops for Pre-K, K, and 1st Grade all over the United States.
Wendy loves to teach young children by making each learning experience FUN and EXCITING! She incorporates singing, dancing, laughing, and playing into her lessons to motivate students. She also uses poems, puppets, games, interactive activities, and manipulatives to engage children. Literacy and Math Centers are used throughout the day to teach Common Core..... It's always a great day to learn something new!!!

Wendy has a BBA in Marketing from the University of West Georgia and a Post Bac degree from Kennesaw State University where she earned her teaching certificate. She has been highly trained in Common Core, Learning Focused Schools, and the Georgia Performance Standards.
Wendy has recently relocated from the Atlanta area to Knoxville, TN because of her husband's job. She has been happily married to her husband, Clay, for 17 years. They have two children who are eleven and seven years old. Wendy spends most of her free time getting the kids from one place to another....mostly the ballpark!
