TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have happily taught 7th and 8th grade science for the past 10 years. I enjoy the chaos of middle school and going to work each day knowing that I can't really know what they'll bring to me today. I am currently teaching science most of the day, then writing and running intervention programs for another part of my day.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My favorite part of teaching is allowing my students to be themselves. I enjoy watching the learning struggles of each of my students as they strive for success in my classroom and outside, when working with intervention students. We set a standard of joy and safety where they can act as they are and struggle at their own pace. It is acceptable to be any kind of learner. The goal is to learn, and to find joy in the process of learning, even when its uncomfortable.
