I have been a classroom teacher for 11 years. Most of my classroom experience has been spent in grades 6-8. My master's degree is in Adolescent Education. I am passionate about making middle grades math concepts accessible to all learners.
As an eleventh year teacher, I relish the opportunity to create a positive learning environment inwhich children actively participate in the construction of their knowledge. I believe strongly in crafting learning experiences that allow children to learn in the method that is most effective for them. By knowing the individuals in my classroom and their interests, I strive to develop lessons that engage all learners. I challenge all students to stretch themselves to perform to the best of their abilities. With careful attention to our learning objectives, I encourage my students to think critically about our topics in focus and to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
