After earning my undergraduate degree in Childhood Education from SUNY Oneonta, I joined Teach For America and began my teaching career. I have been teaching first and second grade for five years! I have taught in Cleveland, Ohio and currently teach in the Bronx, New York. I served as a Grade Team Leader for one year. I have experience in high need, low income areas and work in a high performing charter school environment.I have experience working with a co-teacher as well as a teaching assistant. Currently, I recently earned a Master's degree in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
I love teaching! I fully believe the ONLY way to teach is through building strong relationships with students, incorporating humor and infusing fun into each lesson, and exuding joy in what you do. I try to put teaching the WHOLE child first everyday. I have lots of experience co-teaching, single teaching, station teaching, interactive centers, etc. High focus on whole brain teaching, differentiation, and flexible grouping of students. Data-driven instruction.

I am from NYC and love it (even though it is completely overwhelming and crazy at times). I recently started kickboxing and I am totally addicted. I just got married in July 2016! I also love to cook, bake, watch reality TV and read good books (especially mysteries).
