This is a great worksheet for the end of a lesson on either Halloween or Day of the Dead. In my art classes, we complete this handout together as a class, then I put a sugar skull color sheet on the back. I like this type of handout to go home

This worksheet can be used in several ways. There are 16 colors that may be colored light to dark or dark to light within this wheel. I have let students color this with any colors of twistables or colored pencils. They enjoy the "no rules"

A simple statement I use to remind students their work needs to be uniquely their own. I have used this statement 100's of times and have it posted as a classroom theme. Students love to show me something I have never seen before! Print this poster

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching elementary Visual Arts for 18 years in a suburban public school district.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in building students creative confidence through a hands on, materials focused visual arts program. I use artists, cultures, seasons and the elements of art as my primary motivation for lessons. Additionally, I love challenging students visual literacy. Using the handouts I have designed, I have watched their vocabulary retention increase. It is a balance!
