TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching Science 7-9 since 1998. My students range from accelerated to ELL. I loop so that I teach physical science8, life science 7 and the High School Living Environment course to accelerated 8. My school is a high needs urban school with a highly diverse population. Prior to this, I worked for the pharmaceutical industry, did financial research, and taught Math.

MY TEACHING STYLE

We use an inquiry approach that allows students to build background knowledge before trying to tackle content. Most of my lessons will have a group activity, HOTS questioning and a reflection piece. We try to make science fun and keep students curious.
