TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been in elementary education for 23 years. I have been a Curriculum Coach for 12 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in getting students engaged and interested in what they are about to learn. I believe in the I do, We do, You do model of instructional delivery. Students need to feel respected by you and cared for (genuine caring) and they will make the effort to please you by doing their best to reach their fullest potential.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated and named Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year. I was nominated by a student for the Great Expectations Teacher Award and received this honor. I was nominated for Disney's Highest Educator's Honor Award. I've been trained in the Literacy First Process of teaching reading and worked as a Literacy Resource Specialist for 5 years. Then, NCLB was introduced and I received even more intentional training and became a Reading First Coach to assist other teachers in the field of reading. I can serve in any capacity as a Reading/Writing Consultant and Teacher Trainer.
