TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Twenty-five years experience teaching English to middle school, high school, adult education and college classes. CT Teaching Certifications: Professional Educator for Grades 7-12 English, High School Credit Diploma Program, and External Diploma Program/Noncredit Mandated Program.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have always felt a soft spot for students who have special difficulties, whether it be behaviorally or intellectually. I really enjoy simplifying English for students, especially in terms of literature, grammar and writing. I'm a big fan of scaffolding in order to see the big picture.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I didn't teach because it was easy (so I once thought!) or challenging or even for the pay; I taught because it was in my soul. I had no choice. Teaching is challenging at best, but if as a teacher you can light one candle, that is a candle that will burn brightly for years to come.
