TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught science for twenty-two years. I currently teach and/or have taught (depending on the year) 7th grade life/earth science, 8th grade physical science, 9th grade biology, chemistry, advanced second-year chemistry, human anatomy and physiology, and field ecology.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a global thinker, and often emphasize the big picture because it is so easy for students to get lost in the details of any given unit. I teach far more than science in my classroom. In a cross-curricular sense, I also teach English, history, math skills, and foreign language (Greek/Latin) in addition to life lessons. I immerse my students with hands-on opportunities and teach them to become independent problem solvers. I teach with empathy and strive to promote growth mindsets.
