TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my 9th year of teaching elementary school music, and have also taught science, social studies, and reading intervention.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to teach students core academic content through parodies. You name the song, and tell me a bit about the content, and I can create a fun, informative version of the lyrics to help your students master content in a way that is fun!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood music, and have also served as an assessor and item writer for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hold a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a concentration in clarinet from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I graduated cum laude with disciplinary honors in music in 2008 and became National Board Certified in 2013.
