I have been teaching for 12 years and am very passionate about it. I didn't start my teaching career until I was 41 years old. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you are too old to change career paths. I taught first grade for 5 years and second the rest of the time. The last 3 years I have been teaching gifted ELA. This year I start the new adventure of teaching Kindergarten. I can't wait.
I love to keep my kids engaged by using technology. I use student responders, iPads, iPods and a Smartboard to keep lessons interesting and most of all engaging.
Our school received the prestigious A+ award last year. I participated in the writing of the application. It was a lot of work but so worth it. We know our school is wonderful and has many unique programs. It was quite an honor for it to be recognized outside the district.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
I am so fortunate that I live in the neighborhood I teach in. I love walking down the street or going into a store and having kids run up to me for hug. Sometimes its from kids I don't even know but its ok because it just shows what a close community we have and what a great loving environment we have provided for the kids at school.
