TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 2nd/3rd grades for fifteen years. Then I worked with K-6 teachers as a school improvement coach with the NC Department of Public Instruction for 3 years. After that, I served as the K-5 Curriculum Coordinator for my local school system before retiring. I am now the Workshop Coordinator for Laura Candler; Teaching Resources. I love helping teachers learn engaging strategies to improve student learning!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Engaging, engaging, engaging! I use a lot of hands-on activities and try to make learning fun and relevant for students. I like a lot of movement in a classroom. I have a lot of energy and I know that students need a lot of movement to keep their attention.
