What is my teaching style? Laughter, singing, team effort, self-analysis, Kagan-style management techniques under the "umbrella" of a very highly structured day. I laugh and cry with my children (literally). My style is to involve the parents as much as possible. I often present my style as a triangle - the child, his/her parents, and me. Without one of the corners working and doing their part, I can't be successful as a teacher/mentor. I present myself as someone who has raised children and understand the blessings and stress of being a parent. In other words, what I do each day affects children and their parents. We're a team in the fullest sense of the word. My children say that I'm very strict and love to sing. I guess that about sums it up!
Patricia Dorsey has received various awards, including a Disney Teacheriffic Award, Teacher to Teacher Connection Award, and was previously nominated for Young Educator of the Year.
