MY TEACHING STYLE

Use a reader, writer and math workshop model. The community of the class is most important for establishing rules and routines. I believe that the student should know that he/she is in a kind and nurturing environment, where learning is fun and meaningful. Respectful, responsible, and ready where all students can learn and succeed.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Spanish Award: Scholarship to Mexico to study the language. National Board Certified: 2008 Master Teacher in Wi: 2008 Grant Winner: Smartboard Technology/ Science Award: ING Unsung Heroes/ Bright Ideas Science Award. Compass Award for my district-recognized by administration for outstanding teaching-only 4 awards each year.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a highly spirited, energetic person who believes that laughter and fun is the key to successful teaching along with expert knowledge of the subject matter. I have two children, who reside in California and have successful careers in music and retail. I also have a shih-tzhu dog, that is well loved. I am an avid reader of all genres, love documentaries and enjoy the midwestern style of living.
