My design background started with an art degree from the University of Maryland. After graduation I went to work as a product designer at a souvenir company. While learning the basics of the product development process I was introduced to Adobe Illustrator, it was love at first sight.
My next job was at an advertising agency as a print production coordinator. During this time I had the opportunity to visit large printing facilities in order to learn the ins and outs of large scale commercial print production. While doing print optimization and image formatting as my day job, I designed patterns for fun during evenings and weekends. Eventually this led to freelance design work for textiles, bedding, candles, pajamas and home decor items.
My Etsy shop was opened in Feburary of 2011 under the name "Fancy Dog Studio". I slowly built up my inventory and moved to selling on other venues.

When I am not working I am usually spending time with my 2 dogs and 2 cats, exercising, playing video games or relaxing at home. www.PaulaKimStudio.com
