I've taught early childhood education since1993! I loved my first 6 years teaching first grade, but when my second child was born, I decided to stay home and teach preschool from home. My school grew, and I eventually hired an assistant and added kindergarten, and began creating teacher resources to sell. With a family relocation, I "retired" from teaching... for a few months. I missed the children, so went to work at my local library creating and delivering story times and activities. Another interstate move later, and I'm tutoring and occasionally subbing in a preschool. Who knows where else teaching will take me?! Creating age appropriate learning materials for children is my passion, and I'm tickled to be able to share them with you here. I'd love to hear your feedback and special requests!
I believe in hands-on, experienced based learning for young children! They learn best when they are engaged and enjoying activities, so we sing and dance and move a lot. Learning should be fun!
I was honored with the first annual Family Childcare Provider of the year award for Tarrant County, Texas, given by Campfire USA and the Fort Worth Area Association for the Education of Young Children in 2006.
I majored in English, and minored in History and Women's Studies at SMU, while also taking education classes and earning my teaching certificate.
Happily married, two wonderful sons and 2 spoiled rotten dogs. :-)
