Charity is a creative leader focused on innovation in education. She has years of experience as a passionate educator and professional development designer and facilitator. Her areas of focus are Project-Based Learning, Deeper Learning, gamification, personalization of learning, STEAM and educational transformation. She loves connecting with educators, inspiring creativity and vesting herself in the success of the team! The breadth of her work has been vast – five countries (the U.S., Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and India), eighteen states, over thirty districts and well over one hundred schools. She has designed over a dozen different professional learning workshops and has delivered hundreds of professional learning experiences, in both English and in French. She provided ongoing support to teachers in rural, suburban and deeply urban settings, including Los Angeles Unified, Detroit, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville and New York. She continues to work with many organizations on a sustained basis to coach teachers, support leaders and to conceptualize and support innovative approaches to organizational development and internal capacity building. As a former Senior National Faculty member for the Buck Institute for Education, Charity has presented at a variety of conferences and provided hundreds of PBL 101 & 201 workshops and sustained support sessions to dozens of schools and districts throughout the nation and world. She has also played key roles in Capacity Building Program development and management, National Faculty mentorship, teacher mentorship and systems implementation throughout the US and world. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington with a Bachelors degree in French and a second Bachelors of Education degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in inquiry-based learning. She also studied abroad in francophone Belgium for one year and continues to enjoy near-native like proficiency in French. Prior to beginning her career in education, Charity served honorably in the United States Army as an Arabic linguist.
