TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Worked with students Pre-K to 12th grade for over 30 years. I have had my own private practice as well as working onsite. My latest endeavor is providing speech/language therapy using telepractice! I so enjoy working with others from the comfort of my own home!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Multisensory. I incorporate as many visuals and concrete examples as possible into each lesson.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Invited to present information about Teletherapy at the UW-Madison, I have written an article that was chosen to be published in ASHASphere, and I was recently awarded a mentorship through ASHA's S.T.E.P. program. Received ASHA's A.C.E. Award, published in ASHA Leader, invited speaker to state and international associations.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989 with my Master's Degree in Communicative Disorders. Attended the Mentor Training Program in San Diego, CA provided by Michelle Garcia-Winner herself (through Social Thinking Publications).

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have two grown children of my own. I enjoy reading, walking, and listening to a variety of music. My hobby is making my own soap as well as creating decorative, concrete rhubarb leaves with inspirational inserts that I hand sculpt and paint.
