MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe the only way to teach is to be relevant,current, eclectic, and creative. The student centered classroom provides the greatest chance for all students to learn. Lessons should be written based on the research on how all students learn the best. My MA thesis involved creating a teacher workshop to help teachers learn classroom management techniques that are culturally sensitive particularly with students from the cultures of poverty, Latino,or black. The first thing we must do is examine ourselves and understand how we are different from our students. Then we must teach our students the expectations of middle class work environments and teach the students how to "act" in those environments.
