I received my IB diploma from U.N.I.S. in 2004. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Philosophy from Morehouse College in 2008 with a minor in Spanish. In 2010, I received my Masters of Arts of Applied Linguistics and ESL Education from Georgia State University. After receiving my M.A. degree, I continued to sharpen my skills by teaching, attending professional development opportunities, and staying current with research. I started my teaching career in college working part-time in the elementary school afterschool program at a local private school in East Point, Georgia. My experience teaching there gave me the skills and confidence to travel to Chungcheongnam-do Province, South Korea after college where I taught K-12 and adults at four different public schools. It was there in some small serene town in the South Korean countryside where I fell in love with teaching and the whole field of education. This transformative international experience inspired me to pursue my Masters at Georgia State University and my career in education.
