ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a bassist, educator, writer, and photographer in suburban Chicago. I received my Master of Music in Double Bass Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign and Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, N.Y. I am currently a public school orchestra teacher. I conduct two middle school orchestra and teach lessons for grades 3 - 8. Before my current position I taught elementary, middle school, and high school strings in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Park Ridge, IL. I also was an adjunct teacher for cello and bass at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. From 1998 through 2004 I taught at the Crane School of Music’s summer youth program. I have performed with orchestras and as a recitalist in both New York State and Illinois. In the fall of 2000 I appeared on national television with the Bozo Super Sunday Show. Some ensembles I have performed with include the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra, Peoria Symphony, Polish - American Symphony, Oak Park Symphony, Northbrook Symphony, Opera Illinois in Peoria, the Champaign - Urbana Symphony & Prairie Ensemble of Champaign - Urbana, and The Orchestra of Northern New York in Potsdam, N.Y. I am currently the bass guitarist for the all original rock band, Jungle of Cities. I have attended classes with Michael Hovnanian of the Chicago Symphony, John Chiego, Hal Robinson of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Scott Haigh of the Cleveland Symphony, Stewart Arfman, and Erik Harris. Former double bass teachers include Matthew Vacanti, Richard Stephan, Terrence Squires, Michael Cameron, Greg Sarchet, Tim Shaffer and Andy Anderson. I have been published several times in the international journal American String Teacher and on EnergyAddict.com, the website of best-selling author, Jon Gordon.
