I am Dutch now living in Spain and for the moment teaching English to adults. I was an English teacher in Holland for over 10 years. Age groups from 12 tot 16/17. First basic English and in the final years also more ESP. Because there were no lessons in this area I had to write them myself. Also had to write a lot of lessonplans for the change in education into Active Learning.
I like my pupils to be involved and make learning English fun. This was very important because most of my students had learning disabilities and dyslexia. Their native language was already very difficult for them and to learn a second language was for most of them even worse. So you had to make it fun to get them interested. That is why I think that 100% commitment and the will to try is sometimes even more important then the grades. Especially when you know that they are giving all they got.
Sorry not done in Holland.
