It seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye, but I am going into my 22nd year of teaching. I taught special ed (K-6) for ten years and have spent the last eleven years teaching fourth grade. I think teaching is such an honor and wouldn't trade this job for anything.
Teaching is such a learning experience. You can always find a way to make something better and to teach a lesson in a different way. I love the challenge of making my teaching better every year. I try to instill that love of learning with my students. We use a lot of projects and presentations (both individual and group) in our class using technology. I adore interactive notebooks -- my kids have one for every subject! I love incorporating literature because of those moments when a child finally finds a book that touches them and you know in an instant they've become a life long reader!
