I began my teaching career in 1993, and have taught geometry, algebra, pre-algebra, Title I Math, and college algebra. Currently, I teach honors Geometry, Algebra 1, and Pre-Algebra to 8th graders.
My math classroom is an organized, structured, and encouraging environment. My students are engaged in constant practice of concepts, and I provide after-school study sessions before major quizzes and tests. My recent addition of 2-3 exit tickets per week has really helped my students retain concepts, and helps me see who could benefit from extra help or enrichment. I've also created many spiraling (looping) practice resources, and they work wonders with my students to remember concepts! Many of my resources are leveled, so students of all abilities can reach their goals.
PAEMST Ohio State Finalist, 2023; Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics Outstanding Educator 6-8 Award, 2016; Master Teacher status in Ohio; Multiple Highland Foundation STAR Awards from students for inspiring math teaching; Highland Hero Recognition by a student in the district calendar.
Bachelors of Science-Math Education, Cum Laude: Bowling Green State University; Masters Degree of Education-Curriculum & Instruction: Cleveland State University; I've completed 30 additional semester hours beyond my Masters Degree.
