TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a third year middle school science teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools. My first year I taught general education and honors. Last year and this year I teach 4 team taught classes with the most amazing co-teacher and one honors class.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am all about hands on learning experiences with explicit vocabulary instruction! In science the vocabulary seems to be the biggest and hardest part for kids. I do a lot of focus on notes and using the words of each unit every day. I use interactive notebooks in my science class to keep my students organized and for all of their notes!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nominated for Outstanding New Teacher

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have my Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education for Science and Social Studies from the University of Georgia. I also have my Master's Degree from the University of Georgia in Reading Education New and Digital Literacies.
