TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 10th year of teaching English. I taught 7th grade for my first two years, and as much as I enjoyed it, when the opportunity to teach 9th grade arose, I jumped at the chance because I loved the curriculum. Romeo and Juliet? Yes, please! While 9th grade classes fill the bulk of my day, I also have a section of Intro to Theater.

MY TEACHING STYLE

A student once said, "I learn best when I'm having fun." I think that says it all!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2014, I received the yearbook dedication, as chosen by the senior class. I was deeply honored because this was my first class to graduate, and I had the privilege of teaching them in both 7th and 9th grade. In 2015 and 2017 I was named Teacher of the Year by the Student Council.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Fredonia State University in Fredonia, N.Y. to earn my B.A. in English Adolescent Education. I completed my graduate work at Mansfield University in Mansfield, P.A., earning a M.Ed. in Special Education.
