A "pip" is what becomes of the dreams trapped inside of you, an unseen phantom of what could have been. They are tiny and cute, the "ghost" of who you are becoming. As a sub and paraprofessional, I began to draw these squishy little monsters for students, gradually developing them into a story and mythology unto themselves. Now, they are part motivational reward (a worthy alternative to the traditional "smiley") and part evolving storyline. Each of the original eight pips has their own tale to tell, as I hope to share here on Pip Lab. And, of course, the beauty of "pips" is that you are free to mix, match, and create your own. As such, they seemed a fitting emblem for the passion and creativity I hope to inspire in students.
