I have been teaching on and off since 2013. I am currently in my 3rd year as a primary ESE teacher at a high poverty school.
I believe in creating a family like atmosphere in my classroom. My students often have difficult, uncertain home life so welcoming them into a loving environment on a daily basis is important to me. As a special education teacher I have to give instruction not only at grade level but also where every student is on an instructional level. Finding resources for teaching, assessing, and learning have been difficult at times leading me to create what I was looking for. I hope that you can benefit from the resources that I have found helpful.
Teacher of the week twice in the 2015-2016 school year. Golden Apple Award winner.
I have a degree from Florida State University in Elementary Education (2012) with ESOL, Reading, and ESE endorsements.
I live in Panama City Beach, Florida but teach in a community about 20 to 30 minutes away. I am in my third year teaching special education at a high poverty school. I love reading and planning on the weekends and often find myself creating resources for my students and I to use to improve their understanding of concepts. I also find myself creating materials to make life as a teacher easier.
